Your continued use of StreetDrive (School of Motoring) services and online website shall signify your acceptance to be bound our latest terms & conditions.
The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which driving lessons and courses are offered to you by StreetDrive (School of Motoring) - Poole & Bournemouth Areas.
1. Your DVSA Approved Instructor
The contract for driving tuition is solely between you and your instructor. You and your instructor are responsible for agreeing all matters relating to the timing, location and duration of individual lessons.
Each Instructor operates his or her own business which has been agreed to be bound by the following terms and conditions, in the unlikely event of a complaint, this should be resolved directly with your instructor.
Please note that all major driving schools in the UK (e.g. BSM and the AA) operate in this way.
2. General Conduct
All StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructors are bound by a professional code of conduct.
Your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructors will be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual.
He or she will also behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
Your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor`s car will be well maintained, clean and tidy.
All cars used by StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructors are fitted with dual-controls as part of their standard equipment.
The cars are of course fully insured for driving tuition.
StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructors will not smoke in the car while giving tuition, nor will they use your lesson time for any other form of business, personal or otherwise.
3. Qualifications
As a minimum your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor will be licensed by the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to give driving tuition, all are fully DVSA approved.
He or she will also be proficient in the use of the Learner Driving System of tuition.
4. Course Materials
Various Driving Skills materials from books to DVDs are available to purchase from your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor.
The instructor will discuss your personal development and easy ways of learning at the end of your first lesson. Due to our purchasing power we can often sell you course materials cheaper than most high street and internet stores.
As an alternative to purchasing the Driving Skills materials your local StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor will loan or rent them to you and may ask for a small deposit to ensure their safe return at the end of the training.
5. Driving Licence and Eyesight
The learner must hold a current, valid driving license (provisional or full), which must be produced on or in advance of their first lesson. The learner must also check that they can read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 meters (i.e. 67 feet - about 5 car lengths) with glasses if normally worn.
6. Payments
To book one of our driving courses a deposit will be taken to secure the course and practical test date.
Payment in FULL is to be made atleast TWO weeks prior to commencement of the driving course, we will contact you when the balance is due, the deposit paid will be deducted from the full balance.
Failure to pay the balance in FULL atleast TWO weeks prior to the start date may result in the driving course being cancelled, deposits made are non refundable.
Payment for block bookings (10hr and 20hr blocks) are made in advance, all block bookings are to be used within 6 months of purchase, no claim for a refund can be made once lessons have commenced and no claim for un-used hours can be made after the 6 month period.
If the practical driving test was booked by us "as part of your driving course" and you decide to cancel the training or fail to communicate effectively with us, we reserve the right to cancel the pre booked driving test.
Please note a driving course deposit, the driving test fee or any subsequent training fees are not refundable in the event that you decide to cancel the training.
7. Driving Course Cancellation Policy
Driving Course Cancellation
If a Driving Course is cancelled giving less than 7 days notice then the entire course fees will become payable.
All Driving Courses must be taken and passed within 6 months of the deposit being taken.
8. Driving Lesson Cancellation Policy
a) Weekly PAYG Lesson:- You must give at least 48 hours’ notice to your instructor if you wish to cancel or re-arrange a booked driving lesson. Failure to do so will result in your instructor charging you the full amount for that driving lesson.
A "no show" is considered a breach of our terms & conditions and immediate payment for that lesson will be charged before any further lessons are booked.
b) Driving Course Lessons:- If a "driving course" lesson is cancelled giving less than 48hrs notice the full training time will be deducted from your account. Please note that regular cancellations "one or more" or a "no show" is considered a breach of our terms and we reserve the right to "cancel" the driving course, no refund will be given.
Your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons if he or she feels that the weather or road conditions are unsuitable or dangerous.
The StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of him or her having to postpone any lessons, for whatever reason.
9. The Driving Test
a) Bookings
Driving tests can be booked by you or your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor on your behalf. Driving test bookings always take priority over other lessons. Therefore, your lesson may be postponed to allow for someone else`s driving test and vice-versa.
Changes to lesson bookings as a result of this will be notified immediately.
Test appointments must be notified to your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor as soon as they are known, otherwise he or she cannot guarantee to provide a vehicle for the test.
b) Use of the vehicle
Normally you will conduct your driving test in the StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor vehicle.
While every effort will be made by your instructor, should you fail to reach a satisfactory "safe" standard of driving, or likely to be a danger to yourself, third parties or property, we reserve the right to refuse to present you for the practical test. NO refund for your test or driving course, will be made.
c) Test cancellation
Five clear working days notice of cancellation or postponement is required by the DVSA. Failure to provide the required notice will result in the loss of your test fee.
Your StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation of tests by the DVSA.
However, he or she will do all that is possible to arrange another test as quickly as possible and to help you to reclaim expenses from the DSA.
10. Punctuality
In their own interests learners are advised to be punctual for their lesson appointments.
All such appointments should be recorded on the appointment record card and checked where possible by their StreetDrive instructor, to ensure that mistakes are avoided.
The StreetDrive (School of Motoring) instructor would normally wait for a maximum of 15 minutes before the lesson would be abandoned and the lesson fee forfeited or become due for payment.
11. Learner Comfort and Safety
In the interests of comfort and safety learners are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing which does not restrict movement.
